Washington DC Area Reception and Dinner, April 13, 2002 - Fort Myer, Virginia

We are pleased to announce that our Washington DC Area Reception and Dinner will be held on Saturday evening, April 13, 2002, at Spates Hall, Fort Myer, Virginia, a short cab ride from the center of Washington, DC.  The reception will begin at 6:00 PM, with dinner scheduled for 8:00 PM. The cost for the reception and filet dinner will be $50.00 per person and the cost for the reception (without dinner) will be $15.00 per person, each with a cash bar. Reservations are required and limited. We encourage and appreciate contributions to our Society in addition to the cost of the reception and dinner. Directions to Fort Myer will be available on request.

Dr. Henry Conrad Wurts is our speaker this year and the title of his talk is "Self-determination and economic freedom: a Magna Charta perspective"

In the past, our April Luncheon has traditionally been scheduled for the Monday of DAR Week. This year, since DAR Week has been moved to July, we have scheduled our dinner for Saturday, April 13, 2002. We sent an email asking that those on our email list let us know if they preferred Saturday dinner or Sunday lunch. The overwhelming preference was for a Saturday dinner and we have planned for an early reception because Fort Myer is lovely and it will also provide the opportunity for our members to attend the reception even if they are unable to stay for dinner.

The annual meeting of the Colonial Dames 17th Century should be complete by Saturday afternoon and we particularly encourage all members and guests of the Colonial Dames to attend our dinner. We also welcome those who are not members of our Society. We remind our members and friends that April is a particularly beautiful time to visit Washington, DC. If you would like to receive an invitation please let us know by calling our office or sending an email.
